The Challenge

When Archbishop Spalding High School approached Vitamin, it was facing two major challenges: 1) the school was turning 50 years old and still needed a cohesive visual brand and 2) the school was on a mission to raise $5.5 million in private giving to renovate its auditorium (originally built in 1966).

The Solution

Vitamin went through a brand refresh exercise with Archbishop Spalding, developing a clearly visible and polished logo identity that matched the quality and integrity of the school, enhancing the brand colors and solidifying typefaces to use moving forward. Vitamin then created a brand standards manual to guide all departments in the execution of the marketing materials.

Vitamin also designed and built a website specifically to raise and track funds for the auditorium renovation. Understanding that people process information visually, the site was designed as a living infographic that provides information and updates about the campaign in image form. The homepage features an HTML5 video introducing website visitors to the campus, school history and fundraising campaign. Vitamin also created a custom-designed and coded illustration / infographic that evolves to reflect the dollar amount raised of the total $5.5 million goal.

The website has a detailed virtual tour that allows visitors to take a deep dive into the design of the new space through photo-quality renderings, architectural plans, building material swatches and more. This gives donors a concrete way to see exactly where their donations will go.

The Results

  • Archbishop Spalding has raised $1.6 million toward its goal.

Print Collateral Design

New business cards and stationery collateral were created and rolled out following the brand update. This roll-out coincided with the launch of the campaign site, creating a strong, cohesive message: Archbishop Spalding is more unified and committed to the success of its students and organization than ever.

Campaign Fundraising Website

Archbishop Spalding High School recently implemented a plan to build a new performing arts center and learning commons, and new 21st century facilities for its engineering program. The effort required a brochure-style website that detailed the vision and reason for the renovations, as well as provide the ability to track and gather donations while simultaneously educating prospective donors about the project.
