Google Protects Your Password With Your Pinky
It’s becoming easier and easier for hackers to unlock your private passwords, no matter how many security questions or tricky characters your account requires the user to type. In an article recently published by Wired, the publication reveals passwords are simply not secure enough for today’s Internet. So Google is currently experimenting with a tiny Yubico cryptographic card that can automatically log a web surfer into Google with a single click from your mouse once the technology is connected to the computer through a USB reader.
“We’d like your smartphone or smartcard-embedded finger ring to authorize a new computer via a tap on the computer, even in situations in which your phone might be without cellular connectivity,” the Googlers write.
