Alaz Approves: Doggie Masters of Social Media
Social media has given my canine friends some great PR over the last few years. I’m paying homage to my favorite online doggie superstars with a round up of the most media-savvy pups on the Web, starting with Tuna who’s dug up 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
Tuna the Instagram Star
OK cats, I now understand your obsession with Tuna. Crowned “The Underdog with the Overbite,” this social media super-pup rose to stardom due to his grizzly grin. Just look at that bite:
And not only does he rock the coolest outfits, he also gets to travel to the coolest places. Check him out here in mountainous terrain:
Or here in his sweet airport ride:
Tuna really knows how to work it – Buzzfeed called him “the most inspiring dog on the Internet.” And now he has his own book, called “Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog with the Overbite.” Where’s my book? “Alaz: The Security Dog Who Sheds A Lot.”
The Dog Walker Poodle
This decked out doggie made his debut on the local news, after walking around town on his two hind legs (you humans really love it when dogs do human-y things). It may seem simple to you all, but I don’t know how he does it all day – I need to have four on the floor or my hush puppies start barking.

Chica, the Mutant Dog-Spider
If a dog is man’s best friend, then a spider is man’s worst enemy. Take it from these totally freaked out humans who think they’re being chased by a giant spider as they run away with their tails in between their legs. Turns out though, that the giant spider is just a dog in disguise. Polish YouTube prankster, SA Wardega, pulled off this hilarious joke on unsuspecting humans, you know, just for fun. The video has been viewed over 134 million times.
How do you think these humans felt when they realized the giant mutant spider was just a dog … named Chica. I’ve had doggie breath scarier than that name! Watch the prank below.
Pancho the Yogi
So maybe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks … but apparently you can teach him yoga. While I prefer to spend my free time destroying my Frisbee and howling at fire engines, Pancho and his owner clearly share puppy love while doing “Downward Dog” during their yoga sessions. And after posting one of their sessions to YouTube, well … a canine superstar was born. Watch him in action, below.
Namaste, Pancho. Namaste.
